JEAN SEBASTIEN

RAUD

« Symbols of peace for the world »

Jean-Sébastien RAUD has always wanted to become a sculptor.

Born into a family of antique dealers and teachers, he grew up in an environment where masterpieces from Antiquity as well as modern art shaped his visual sensibility from an early age. As a child, he already showed a strong interest in drawing and modelling. During his teenage years, a series of dreams became a turning point: at the age of 16, he understood that he wanted to devote his life to creation.

Transmission plays an essential role in his career.

For him, teaching is a natural extension of his artistic practice. He often reminds his students of a phrase that sums up his belief in sharing knowledge:
“Everything that is not given is lost.”

A professional sculptor, Jean-Sébastien Raud combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary techniques. His work emerges from a constant dialogue between art history, cultures, spiritual traditions, and the major questions of our time.

His sculptures explore memory, identity, peace, fraternity, humanity’s place in the world, and what, beyond our differences, can still bring us together.

For him, being a contemporary artist may simply mean this: observing one’s time, absorbing its tensions and hopes, and giving them form.

Welcome to a world where sculpture becomes a space for dialogue between people, cultures, and time.
